Types of Manuscripts Accepted

BELGI: Journal of Islamic Business and Decision Sciences welcomes original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of decision science and Islamic business, particularly in the food and service industries. The journal considers the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles

Original empirical studies employing quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches. These manuscripts should address a clearly defined research problem, demonstrate methodological rigor, and provide original theoretical, empirical, or practical contributions to decision science and Islamic business.

2. Systematic Literature Reviews

Systematic reviews that synthesize existing scholarly evidence through a transparent and rigorous process of literature searching, screening, selection, and analysis. Manuscripts should clearly explain their review procedures and demonstrate how the synthesis advances theoretical understanding or informs business practice.

3. Meta-Analysis Studies

Quantitative syntheses of findings from previous empirical studies using appropriate statistical techniques. Manuscripts should report transparent study selection procedures, relevant analytical methods, and meaningful conclusions that advance understanding of the research topic.

4. Bibliometric Studies

Studies that examine the development, intellectual structure, influential publications, research networks, and thematic evolution of a body of scholarly literature. Manuscripts should clearly describe their data sources, search strategy, selection criteria, analytical procedures, and substantive implications.

5. Conceptual and Theoretical Articles

Scholarly manuscripts that develop, extend, integrate, or critically evaluate theories, conceptual frameworks, or decision-making models relevant to Islamic business. These manuscripts should provide a strong theoretical rationale, critically engage with relevant literature, and establish a clear and original scholarly contribution.

General Selection Criteria

Regardless of manuscript type, submissions must align with the journal’s aims and scope, demonstrate originality, engage critically with relevant scholarly literature, and provide a meaningful contribution to decision science and Islamic business. Manuscripts must also meet appropriate standards of methodological or theoretical rigor, research ethics, academic writing, and reporting transparency.

Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and bibliometric studies must offer substantive analytical insights rather than merely descriptive summaries. Conceptual and theoretical articles must demonstrate a clear contribution beyond the restatement of existing knowledge.

All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment. Manuscripts considered suitable for further evaluation are processed in accordance with the journal’s peer-review policy. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, and the final publication decision rests with the editorial team.

Authors are required to follow the journal’s Author Guidelines and Submission Preparation Checklist before submitting their manuscripts.
