Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

BELGI: Journal of Islamic Business and Decision Sciences adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and is committed to following the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal expects all parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to uphold ethical behavior and integrity.

1. Duties of Authors

  • Authors must ensure that their submissions are original, free from plagiarism, and have not been published elsewhere.

  • All sources used must be properly cited, and relevant prior work must be acknowledged.

  • Authors are responsible for disclosing any potential conflicts of interest and funding sources.

  • Data must be represented truthfully, and fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior.

2. Duties of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for fair and unbiased evaluation of all manuscripts, based solely on scholarly merit and without regard to the authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or beliefs.

  • Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished material for their own research.

  • Editors should take reasonable steps to identify and prevent publication misconduct, and must act upon any ethical concerns raised.

3. Duties of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback to assist authors in improving their work.

  • Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and may not use unpublished data for personal advantage.

  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect the impartiality of their evaluation.

4. Duties of the Publisher

  • The publisher ensures that publishing decisions are based on editorial and peer review integrity, and will not be influenced by commercial or political factors.

  • The publisher is committed to maintaining the journal’s independence, academic quality, and ethical standards.

  • In cases of proven research or publication misconduct, the publisher will work with editors to publish corrections, retractions, or clarifications as appropriate.
