Aims, Focus, and Scope

Aims
BELGI: Journal of Islamic Business and Decision Sciences aims to advance scholarly research and practical understanding of decision science in the context of Islamic business, particularly within the food and service sectors. The journal provides a platform for the dissemination of high-quality, field-based studies—both quantitative and qualitative—that integrate decision-making theories, models, and methods with Islamic business values and practices. The ultimate goal is to contribute to academic discourse, inform managerial practice, and support ethical and sustainable business development in Muslim and global markets.

Focus and Scope
The journal focuses on the intersection of decision science and Islamic business studies, emphasizing empirical research and applied methodologies. Contributions should demonstrate theoretical rigor, methodological soundness, and practical relevance. While the primary emphasis is on field research, conceptual and theoretical works that provide significant advancements are also considered.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Decision-making models and applications in Islamic business

  • Quantitative and qualitative field research in food and service industries

  • Halal food supply chains, logistics, and operations management

  • Service innovation and customer experience in Islamic markets

  • Entrepreneurial decision-making in Muslim communities

  • Consumer behavior, preferences, and market dynamics in halal industries

  • Strategic management, competitiveness, and sustainability in Islamic business

  • Ethical frameworks and Sharia-compliant practices in business decision-making

  • Application of decision science methods (e.g., SEM, PLS, LISREL, AMOS, NVivo) to Islamic business research

The journal welcomes interdisciplinary approaches that connect decision science with economics, management, entrepreneurship, marketing, and organizational studies within the framework of Islamic values. By fostering dialogue between theory and practice, BELGI seeks to become a trusted academic reference for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers worldwide.
